CMR-228  de Havilland Venom NF.2/2A
[Twin-Seat Jet Night Fighter Aircraft]
    — Decals, Photo-Etch Detailing Set & Paint Mask Included
For Information:
The de Havilland Venom NF.2 was the first night fighter variant of the Venom line. It accommodated the pilot and the navigator/radar operator side-by-side under a framed canopy. Powered by the de Havilland Ghost 103 engine, it had the tail unit of the Vampire T.11, and the AI Mk.10 radar mounted within the extreme nose.

The Venom NF.2A was an improved version, with the framed canopy of the NF.2 being replaced by a clear view canopy from the Vampire T.11 and the tail fin assembly was modified to accept the rudders from the Venom FB.4.

The first production NF.2 flew in March 1952 and saw brief service with No.23 Squadron of the RAF. The improved Venom NF.2A entered service with the RAF in April 1955 but had ceased operations by August 1957 - being replaced by the Venom NF.3 version fitted with the AI Mk.21 radar.

This full resin kit contains 67 parts, optional tail booms and main wheels, 'framed' and 'clear view' vacu canopies (a spare set of each is included for modeller's convenience), canopy paint masks and two photo-etched frets, of which one is coloured. The decal sheet also includes a full set of stencils, for which placement on the kit a detailed diagram is included in the highly detailed instruction leaflet.
