CMR72-222  Supermarine Scimitar F.1
"Camera/Photo-Reconnaissance" version
[Single-Seat Naval Jet Fighter-Bomber]
    — Decals, Photo-Etch Detailing Set & Paint Mask Included
PLEASE NOTE: This model is 100% new tooling (not a re-release of CMR-126)
For Information:
The Supermarine Scimitar F.1 was a single-seat jet fighter-bomber that saw operational service with the "Fleet Air Arm" of the ROYAL
NAVY. Similar to CMR72-221 (in that this model covers the main production version with its sharper nose profile - giving improved
pilot visibility during landings aboard aircraft carriers)
, however this model specifically covers Scimitar F.1 aircraft fitted with the
'Gyro Gun Sight Camera' mounted in the tip of the nose, plus glazed camera apertures for the full 'Photo Reconnaissance' nose.

This model includes: a highly detailed cockpit and the option to have flaps retracted or fully lowered, as well as open or closed air
brake petals [note: folded wings require addition detailing set - CMR72-DS06
 — now discontinued]. The aircraft and scheme examples included, differ from those of CMR72-221 and cover operational service of the Scimitar F.1 from 1961 to 1969 - both shore-based 'Weapons Trials' with A&AEE, 'Ship Attack simulations' with Airworks Fleet Requirement Unit, plus aboard Royal Navy aircraft carriers: HMS Hermes, HMS Ark Royal and HMS Eagle.

A variety of payloads are included such as: 'Bullpup-A' Guided Missiles; AIM-9B Sidewinder Missiles; 100, 150 & 200 Gallon Drop
Tanks; In Flight Re-Fuelling Pod; 'Weapons Trials' Ventral Camera Pod; plus Practice Bombs and Carriers.
